Amazon India today announced that it has opened 20,000 new seasonal job opportunities in its customer service wing in India, reports The Hindustan Times. These new job opportunities are available in 11 cities across the country. Amazon says that most of the positions are part of its Virtual Customer Service program, which means employees will get flexible working hours along with the option to work-from-home. As a part of their job, associates will have to support customer needs and deliver personalised, peculiar experiences that customers enjoy through various mediums including email, chat, social media and over the phone. Amazon says that these temporary positions can convert into a permanent position by the end of the year based on a candidate’s performance and the company’s business needs. Amazon India, earlier this year announced that it would create almost one million new jobs in India by 2025.
