India is home to 57 tiger reserves, covering over 82,836.44 square kilometers of forest area . These reserves are protected areas dedicated to conserving the majestic Royal Bengal Tigers. Here are some key highlights:

Largest Tiger Reserves in India
1. Nagarjunsagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve: Spanning 3296.31 square kilometers, this reserve is located in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
2. Manas National Park: Covering 3150.92 square kilometers, this park is situated in Assam and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site .
3. Melghat Tiger Reserve: Located in Maharashtra, this reserve spans 2768.52 square kilometers .

States with the Most Tiger Reserves
1. Madhya Pradesh: With 8 tiger reserves, Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of reserves in the country .
2. Other states: Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Uttarakhand also have a significant number of tiger reserves.

Conservation Efforts
